Executive Director

Reporting to the Board of Directors and working under their direction and trust, the Executive Director is responsible for implementing a wide range of functions that will support the work of the First Nations Child and Family Service Agencies (FNCFSA) in Saskatchewan.

Functions include, but are not limited to, research, policy coordination and analysis and FNCFSA operational support. Operational support may be provided in areas such as developing and providing training for FNCFSA Boards, staff, caregivers, Chiefs and Councils, and community members; reviewing the impact of federal and provincial policies on Saskatchewan First Nations; developing First Nations standards for programs and services; advocating for FNCFSAs in inter-jurisdictional disputes; and managing a regional information system to inform agency policy and program decisions.

As the senior employee of the organization, the Executive Director fills the role of general manager and is accountable for strategic and budget planning; outcomes and performance measurement; human resources and financial management; drafting corporate policies for Board consideration; supervising employees, consultants and contract positions; drafting research proposals and providing coordination and oversight to research projects; coordinating partnerships with Federal, Provincial and First Nations governments, FNCFSAs and other organizations and individuals as may be required.
