| Forklift Mechanic Job Overview The Forklift Mechanic is responsible for performing all troubleshooting, diagnostics, maintenance, repairs and rebuilding jobs on forklifts and all materials moving equipment within the service department or in the field as required in a safe, efficient, and capable manner. Qualifications Duties: The Forklift Mechanic is responsible for performing all maintenance and repairs on forklifts and all materials moving equipment. You are competent in your ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics on all Wajax Industries materials moving product lines serviced from the Saskatoon branch. You must be able to work with minimal supervision and/or direction. Requirements: Licensed Heavy Equipment Technician or an Automotive trade certificate is required. Must have a demonstrated ability to efficiently troubleshoot and repair issues in electronic, mechanical, electro/hydraulic systems common to Materials Handling products. Three (3) – four (4) years of Journeyman experience or an experienced fourth year apprentice is required. Competency in both Internal Combustion and Electric lift trucks is essential as well as experience with manufacturer specific equipment diagnostic systems i.e. Laptop or onboard. Exceptional communication skills to drive problem resolution both externally and internally is an asset. A requirement of the role is to familiarize yourself with company policy and procedures and abide by them consistently.
